Hi! and welcome to Pinoy Stock Trader's Blog. In this post, I will be covering basic information about the stock market, basic investing tips and guides. I am referring particularly to our own local Philippine Stock Market.
What is a Stock Market?
The stock market is a place where shares of stock of publicly-listed companies are bought and sold.
The stock market is actually located with the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE). The PSE has two offices one in Ortigas and one in Makati, but don't worry because you don't have to go there in order to transact with them (I will be covering more info about this later on).
The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) is the corporation that governs our local stock market.
What are Stocks?
Stocks are shares of ownership in a corporation or it represents ownership of a company. People buy or invest in stocks to benefit from a company's tremendous value potential over time. Once you buy or invest into a stock you now become part owner or a shareholder of that particular corporation.
